Taxi Driver, Taxi Driver

I have a love/hate relationship with cabbies. Can’t live with them, can’t live without them.

While they are essential to my existence (shuttling between Makati and Quezon City), I hate how they 1. refuse to take passengers whose destinations they deem “far,” 2. ask for extra even though the meter is running because traffic is heavy, 3. time #2 while you’re in the middle of an Edsa underpass and can’t refuse and get off.

I wish all Manila cabbies were like Baguio cabbies who are not only helpful, but also give your change down to the last centavo. *sigh*

Lol, this reminds me of Zafra ranting about cabbies in Manila. She even takes down their license plate numbers and reports them.

I hate it when you hand over a bill and they don’t even bother giving you your change. They just look ahead and when you ask for your change they give you this look that says, “Why are you so frigging miserly?”

I’ve never ridden a cab in Baguio before. Now I’m curious. I wonder what they’ve put in their water. Maybe we can force it down the Manila cabbies’ throats.

Ugh, I totally used to take that trip from QCity (I lived on Rodriguez) to Makati for school. Not fun.

but you learn a lot from cabbies especially if they’re talkative. =D

yup, Baguio cabbies are the best! Flag down is lower since they aren’t air conditioned, and they do give you the exact change. here in Manila, I make it a point to have smaller bills and coins in my wallet when i take a cab

I totally agree with you, Mela. How many times have I slammed taxi doors because they won’t bring me to Las Pi
