Are you Phasmatic?
Tsk, you wash your hands after ironing? *shakes head* Your hands are going to get pasma.
– My oldersister, talking to our niece
I always hear this from aunts and mothers and older cousins. “:Don’t wash your hands after a long day of typing,” “Don’t wet your feet right after taking off your shoes,” etc.
What is pasma anyway? What are the effects? Having extremely sweaty and shaky hands? Developing ugly vein-y hands and feet when you get old? Numbness? Hmmm?

Sweaty hands?
well, that’s what they said o_o
arthritis, possibly. unless phasmatic is another word for arthritic, in which case, please ignore this comment. :D
Wait … you also get “pasma” in the foot… But I don’t think feet shake, though they do get sweaty and veiny…
“Pasma” is still being debated in medical schools. We really don’t know what it means. They say don’t take a bath after you take off your shoes, you’d get pasma. Meaning, your feet will show veins and stuff. Whatever it means, it does have its medical significance. Maybe age-old beliefs do have their own merits. This, however, does not include not taking a bath during “that time of the month”.
Do you know that “bangungot” is actually a phenomenon limited only to Asian men? :-)
bangungot is nightmare, right? uh, don’t females get nightmares too? :-?
Au contraire, “Bangungot” is NOT nightmare :-) It has something to do with bingeing (sic) the night before on food and alcohol, and dying because of it.
Poor pancreas and liver.
