Hotness

One of the best things about November is the drop of temperature. However, the drop is usually only after the sun has set and a few minutes after the sun has risen.

The days, unfortunately, are as hot as summer.

Orange Morning

Though I am still awake when the sun goes up, I hardly notice the sun rise. I’m usually too intent in staring at my computer screen.

The other day though, I went to bed early (around 5:30 am). I laid down with my eyes closed, waiting for sleep to come. After 10 minutes or so, I opened it and saw one of the most beautiful sights ever.

The sky was orange.

Everything was orange, like one of those freaky moments when the sun sets and everything suddenly looked yellow. Can’t wait to see that again.

Mr. Piggybank

A visit to Equitable-PCI Bank’s website tells me that my money’s better off inside my piggybank.

1% interest per annum?!

Unless you have millions inside your bank account and have it in time deposit, there’s really not much point in putting your savings in the bank anymore.

Fireworks at Glorietta

Want to see fireworks?

It seems that every Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights from November to December there will be fireworks in the Glorietta, Greenbelt area. I recall that last Friday, my friend and I were able to catch the 9pm fireworks display in the Greenbelt Park area. At 8pm is the one scheduled in the Glorietta Park area.

The fireworks were really lovely =)

Of clothes, tiangges, etc.

I have often been teased about my boyish clothes: baggy shirts, jeans and sneakers. I often have that kind of get up at work because it’s the most comfortable way of going here and there. Aside from that, I don’t really enjoy shopping for clothes. A lot of them are expensive and they don’t fit me well, being a plus sized person. One of my officemates told me that she has been finding good clothes in Tutuban and ukay-ukay shops.

I have tried checking out some ukay-ukay shops and some tiangge stalls for the past two nights that I have been able to catch some of them still open, selling clothes. Again, the dilemma regarding my size has been the culprit. However, in one of the ukay-ukay shops in Novaliches Bayan, I found myself a Php 40 shirt and last night, I found a stall in the Novaliches bayan tiangge selling nice shirts for Php 75 each. And the good thing about those shirts at the tiangge is that they fit me well =) I guess it just takes a bit of patience and the stroke of luck.

Another mall to conquer

Am I reading this right? According to SM Prime Holding’s website, the SM Mall of Asia will open in December 2005.

It’s said to be twice as big as Megamall; 4 buildings connected by elevated walkways and using up 19 hectares of land. Reclaimed land. That’s scary.

Anyway, another thing to look forward to in December!

Money matters

I was glancing over my shoulder when I saw someone reading Libre in the MRT. I couldn’t help but take a look because the headline is about the printing of the money with the mispelled name of the president. It was magnified so you could see. I was hearing about it over the radio yesterday. This is the article on inq7 in case you want to read more.

There were lots of political jokes about it. And I suppose that some of you have already heard of it. In any case, I agree with my sister that the bill with the misprint would be collector’s items by today…
