“We deliver!”

I’ve been going to the Fully Booked website quite a bit these days but something dawned on me for the first time today: they deliver?!

Wow.

The number is 898-0283. The idea of ringing a bookstore to get a book delivered is… weird. I guess it will never really replace actually going to the store to pick out a book but it is quite convenient for busy people. I’m thinking gift-buyers who have a title and the author’s name but can’t be bothered to go to the mall.

Over at the Rice Bowl Journals forums, people not living in the Philippines were pretty amazed that KFC and McDonald’s (and practically everyone else) deliver here. Well, apparently, the bookstores are next. (You can online over at the National Bookstore website, but that’s not the same as picking up the phone to order.)

When I visited Manila for the first time, I was so surprised of McDonald’s delivery that I had to take a picture of a delivery car, and the “love ko to” slogan. Sadly, I accidently deleted that picture. But actually, I thought that “love ko to” was funnier since here in the U.S. it’s “I’m lovin’ it”. Are there any places that sell “love ko to” t-shirts?

Hmm, I don’t know. I think McDonald’s has some for promos and stuff but I don’t know if they sell them.

Thanks anyway. I looked pretty hard while I was out there. I’ll have to ask my cousins to keep an eye out.
