The trailer of the Cinemalaya entry ‘Big Time’ caught my eye when I saw it on TV. They were mentioning a lot of names like Matet, Boy Abunda, et al. But they’re not part of the movie. Jamie Wilson (I watched him compete with the other actors on the show ‘Hollywood Dream’) is part of the cast and he plays the son of a crime lord. Joanne Miller looks familiar. I think I saw her on a soap opera before. She plays the role of Melody, the prettiest girl in Tambo, the one that will be kidnapped by Danny (portrayed by Winston Elizalde) and Jonas (whose actor is Nor Domingo). She will be kidnapped because those two petty crooks want to make it big time.
It looks like a funny movie with social relevance. I like watching such movies.
I read that we could watch them at the SM Cinemas starting tomorrow, January 25.
A synopsis of the movie is on this page on Click the City.

From ABS-CBNnews:
ABS-CBN correspondent Ernie Baron, known for his moniker “the walking encyclopedia,” passed away Monday morning at the age of 65, ANC reported.
I never liked him that much but he was somehow part of my childhood. I can still remember the time when I would sit in front of the television set watching TV Patrol with Noli de Castro and Mel Tiangco as the news anchors. Watching the sickly weatherman by the very end of the show was always worth the wait for he was funny. The only thing funnier was Vic Sotto spoofing him as Ernie Barong!
Mr. Weatherman will be missed.

When I go to Makati, I use the MRT to get back to either Ortigas or Shaw. It’s the best way I could beat the northbound traffic during rush hour– Nevermind the countless of commuters with you.
Imagine my surprise, when I got there and there were separate lines for males and females entering the railway. I was going “WTF?” Apparently, they were monitoring for something, hence the new set-up. But they didn’t foresee the consequences. Long lines (longer than the usual lines during rush hour, REALLY), pissed off commuters and delayed trips. And it seems, there really ARE more females than males. The men were breezing through the inspection booth, while the females had 3 lines that bended and curved almost endlessly. O_o
*sigh* I do hope, that when I get back there, the set-up would go back to normal.
And oh, Nina! Are these the TVs at the railways you were talking about before? (Blue poles) Ahhh~ They’re new (I haven’t ridden the MRT for a few months already). And they’re showing music videos. When I was there, they were showing Martin Nievera vids. This was in Makati. I also saw the same thing at Shaw station, on the way to the Shangri-la Exit.

I don’t get to listen to Chico and Del in the morning because I sometimes sleep on the shuttle on the way to work. But there are mornings I listen to them via my phone. The top ten things in the morning always wake me up ;)
This morning they talked about the top ten opening lines for a resignation letter. It was hilarious! But I could imagine how those people thought when they sent in their entries. One sounded something like “Dear Tightwads” then proceeds to say something about the “sorry excuse for a salary.” Hehe.
Some time last week, there were the lines that you would tell your parents if you were their parents. That was funny but true. I could somewhat relate with what the listeners sent in. If you were able to catch it, you would see how much guilt-tripping our culture has.
