Coup Attempt Foiled – No classes in all levels

This morning, the military cracked down on a coup attempt that aims to overthrow President Gloria Arroyo. Several members of the Armed Forces were planning to start a coup and join protest rallies set today. The army and police are now in red alert.

Classes in all levels within the metro are suspended. There is heavy police and military presence in Makati and Ortigas (both business districts).

NOTE: This is a developing story.

it’s better than being being terrorized by, well, terrorists and by that, I mean buses and trains blowing up. i should know, two of my cousins and their children are NPA and they’re not the type that’s in the mountains only. no. they’re literally everywhere… in the churches, schools, in your neighborhood. my nephews and nieces were even payed one too many times to join rallies. of course, my cousins (the ‘rents) receive larger sums of money for participating in demonstrations. weird thing nga is that their type of communism isn’t the type that karl marx lived to build. come to think of it, inamin nina satur ocampo na sila ang responsible sa plaza miranda bombing. hay, they sure know the achilles’ heel of democracy — and that’s to abuse it, thereby rendering it useless for the people in the process.
