American Manila Memorial
A little ways up McKinley Road from Makati is the American Manila Memorial. I don’t know if the historical significance is the same to non-Americans, but the place is still worth a visit for the vast expanse of white cross markers, the engraved marble names and the meticulously groomed landscape. Luckily, the smog-gray sky blew over right as I arrived, leaving a gorgeous blue and puffy clouds.
