A new way to protest
Rallying in the streets is soooo last week. What’s in now is expressing your anti-Gloria sentiments in Starbucks.
Again, from the Philippine Star:
Anti-Arroyo forces are asking members of the middle and upper classes to wear black and troop to a series of pricey coffee shops to make a political statement.
Defiant coffee lovers are being asked to queue up at the counter individually for their drinks. Usually, one person in a group or barkada orders drinks from the rest.
After getting their products, students, business executives and professionals are asked to sit or just stand around for at least 30 minutes.
When the cue is given, the caffeine-loving protesters will leave en masse, at which point everyone is asked to give a simultaneous “thumbs down” sign before peacefully dispersing and proceeding to the next gimmick place.
I think this is scheduled for tonight, so if you want to have your coffee in peace, you’re better off drinking at home.
On another note, the peso is now up at Php51.22 against the dollar, the highest it’s been in more then three years.
…Big Brother informed Keanna that peeing in the garden is strictly prohibited. “Bawal bastuhin ang kabahayan ko. Sa susunod na umihi ka sa garden, bibigyan na kita ng kaukulang parusa. pagkatandaan mo yun,” Kuya stressed to Keanna.
