Tropical Storm Caloy ends Summer in Manila
Summer has officially ended with typhoon Caloy which entered the Philippine Area of responsibility last May 9. Caloy which is about 200 kms east southeast of Guiuan, Eastern Samar since about 5pm today is estimated to be within 170 kms east southeast of Manila by tomorrow. The storm has maximum sustained winds of 95 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 120 kph. Public Storm Signal Number 2 has been raised over Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, Ticao Island and Samar provinces. Public Storm Singal Number 1 has been raised over Camarines Sur, Burias Island, Masbate, Leyte Provinces, Biliran Island, Surigao Provinces, Siargao and Dinagat Islands. Provinces with warning signals are alerted against flash floods and landslides especially in Leyte which is prone to land slides.

i know caloy did bad things for other Filipinos but I was out that day, under the heat of the sun and stricken by the very humid air (which was always the case everyday) when suddenly, the clouds made a strange formation and drizzle was in sight. i almost cried that moment after four friggin’ months of being in a microwave.
