Caloy kills 24, blacks out Manila and cancels flights

Landslides, flashfloods, power outages, cancelled flights and embarkations all over the Metro and the rest of Philippines as tropical storm Caloy (international name Chanchu) passed over Luzon. Power has been restored in most areas of Manila while 2 ships are reported to have sunk including the ferry MV May Ann where 5 are still missing. The NDCC (National Disaster Coordinating Council) have been put on alert.

    i am so thankful now that caloy is out of the phil area of responsibility. it simply means that we don’t have to worry about landslides, floods, homeless and sick people.

    thank God. i hope everyone feels the same way

    i envy those who were stranded in boracay. at least they were stranded in an island paradise. right? hehehe. i can’t wait to visit boracay again.

    We happened to be stranded in Boracay, and trust me, no beach means nothing else to do. Not to mention the winds, rain and no electricity. Scary stuff. But, the staff at Willy’s Beach Resort never let the smiles leave their faces. They were wonderful. Glad that everything is now okay.
