My sportswriter friend ^[1]has what we both think is the hottest ticket in town: a press pass to NBA superstar Tracy McGrady’s forthcoming visit to Manila. Scheduled August 28-30 as part of an Asia-exclusive adidas promotions tour, T-Mac’s visit is making me think twice about my professed loyalty to “just do it”.

According to adidas’ official press release,

the adidas T-MAC Tour will feature a number of events ranging from the T-MAC 1 limited edition Asia-only shoe launch (special white/gold color — limited to 1500 numbered pairs), community events, retail appearances and basketball grassroots activities.

Basketball fanatics will be happy to hear that McGrady will be stopping over SM Mall of Asia’s Music Hall on Aug. 28, 5 pm and at the Ayala Malls Glorietta on Aug. 29, 11 am.

It’s not the first time that Filipino sports and sneaker fans will get a chance to see the Houston Rockets’ versatile swingman in person. He has been here before, and even though clothes and shoes don’t make the man, it helps to have some really sick athletic talent and a really pretty pair of shoes.
