Shopping for a travel destination
My friend Vic invited me to the Travel Mart in the Megatrade Hall in SM Megamall. I’ve been to a Travel fair before, but I didn’t really enjoy it because though I wanted to go to all those places, I didn’t have the money to pay for the packages they’re offering, though they’re relatively cheap.
Today, I still wasn’t able to buy any packages, but I did get lots of ideas for future destinations and brochures of resorts in Bohol (where I’ll be going in October).
What I really enjoyed about this year’s Travel Mart is that Vic knew a lot of people. It was great not because I met a lot of people (including general managers of some of the country’s top resorts and a fashion icon), but because of their conversation. It’s just so great to hear people so passionate about tourism. They’re not just pushing for tourism to improve the economy, but for people to discover how beautiful our country is. They talk about the hurdles they come across, and how tourism is not just the government’s responsibility, but of everybody.
Anyway, if you’re seaching for a new destination or an accomodation for your next trip via Cebu Pacific (10 peso fare? Piso fare? My ticket to Bohol was from the Piso fare promo), head on to the Megatrade Hall this weekend!
