Metrowalk Spa

If you do a lot of standing around and walking in Metrowalk, you’ll understand the need for that foot massage. Or maybe after a heavy meal in one of their many restaurants, you’d want to relax and get a body massage. I’ve seen The Metrowalk Spa lots of times but always passed by it because of its uninviting exterior.

I’ll tell you right away that it doesn’t look like much on the outside. It looks more like a hospital clinic than it does a spa. Even the lobby leaves much to be desired. The receptionist, while looking very clean and pretty in her silk kimono, was impatiently whining on the phone about being alone at the front desk. My husband and I wondered if we were doing the right thing, wanting to get a foot massage there in Metrowalk.

We decided to go for it. We were led to a couples room, where two comfortable-looking chairs were set, and were asked to change into the shorts provided. There was a calm darkness in the room, perfect for some afternoon rest and relaxation. The therapists came in shortly and served us some hot green tea.

About ten minutes into the massage, I zonked out. I am not a expert but I can tell you that I had a very pleasant foot massage. Vangie, my therapist, made sure I was always comfortable. I felt more relaxed afterwards and the knots in my legs eased out. But while I woke up to happy feet, my neck ached. Turns out the chair wasn’t as comfortable as I thought it was.

The damage? Not more than P500 for both of us, including tips. They were having a 50% promo that day, so we were lucky! We’ll definitely return to Metrowalk Spa. Perhaps I’ll try one of their special packages. Princess Che is a two-service package consisting of foot massage and swedish or shiatsu massage. This is worth P750 and lasts 2 hours and 10 minutes. Or maybe I can try Achilles Choice – peppermint foot scrub and manicure/pedicure for P450, 1 hour and 30 minutes. Despite the clinic-like exterior and the frazzled receptionist, the overall service isn’t that bad at all.

Sounds great! I’d say that is a good deal.
I don’t know about the foot massage, I have a very ticklish feet.
When I do get a massage, I try to relax really hard so as not to laugh when it’s the foot’s turn to get the attention.
