Billboards No More?

Billboards No More?

Not really. While some billboards have gone back up, others remain as bare as they were when Milenyo stripped off their signs. Frankly, it’s refreshing not to see a lot of billboard clutter. While it is a good venue for advertisers to help consumers make informed decisions, it is good that going back up in the sky will require compliance with stricter codes now. Better late than ever, I suppose.

Bottomless Beer Anyone?

Mr. Rockefeller

I went to Greenbelt the other week because I was craving for the carbonara of MYLK (My Little Kitchen) restaurant. And I was suprised that MYLK wasn’t there anymore…Mr. Rockefeller now occupies the old location of MYLK. Because Mr. R is new, I didn’t hesitate to try it out. I was with my friends and we all enjoyed the food that they’ve served us. Thank you Mellisa (the owner) for the complimentary chips with spinach dip…(now she merits only the good words….hahaha. joke)

Nameless, Shameless

There’s one officer of MMDA posted along EDSA, before the Guadalupe section when you’re coming from the North, whose name I can’t remember. I don’t remember it because I don’t even know it. And since I don’t know the traffic enforcers’ schedules either, some other guy may now be found over there – waiting on either a violator or a prey.

Cafe Xocolat

While Max Brenner may be a bit overpriced for the masses to enjoy, Xocolat is definitely a great place to enjoy good old chocolate. On the list to try is their churros and their chocolate fondue.

Check out their branches:

Beer and Breakfast at Dencios?

Well why not even have it with a Sandwich and a Spoon as both bands will be playing at the Inumorning Call Center party which starts 7am in Dencio’s, Eastwood. Call Center people from iTouchPoint, ETelecare and Epixtar (all of which are in Eastwood) are bound to check this out.

Pretty hospital

In 2003, I’ve been to Cardinal Santos a number of times: when my other sister gave birth and afterwards when she brings her daughter for her regular check up.

Last year, I went with my other sister for her check up, and we were both taken aback with the new lobby. Not that there was anything mortifying in the lobby. It was the opposite: the lobby was renovated and looked like a hotel lobby, not that of a hospital.

This morning, we went to the Medical City in Ortigas and once again, I was floored at how beautiful the entire complex was.

I suppose, if your hospital looks this beautiful, you wouldn’t feel so scared about “checking in.”

Happy Feet!

This way to Feet For Us!

Feet for Us. I love that massage place. They’re not hard to find, the service is consistently good, the prices are reasonable, the chairs are cozy… Their website says:

“FEET for US is a foot reflexology center engaged in providing unparalleled Xiamen-style Foot Massage Reflexology that is known for its soothing and healing power. We are a coveted destination for couples, single people and working persons with busy lifestyle after a truly hard day’s work. Our relaxing ambiance is coupled with excellent and de-stressing service.”

I sure am that working person with a busy lifestyle! I enjoy seeking refuge in Feet for Us after work a lot.

Crepes and Cream!

004_20061015.jpg

I’m not a big fan of Crepes but a friend wanted me to try Crepes and Cream in The Fort. They have an interesting combination of fruits, chocolate and other add-ons that were not so bad. I tried a vanilla ice cream, bananas and pecan combo and they use FIC (Fruits in Cream) which is one of my favorite ice creams! I’ll definitely be back to try some of their other combos.
