Hanging Around
A foot sticking out of the car window. A hand dangling lazily from the backseat. Bare feet pressed against the windshield. It’s common to see these things on the road. You’re waiting for the traffic light to turn green, then lo and behold, a truck pulls up beside you. What appalls you goes beyond the smoke-belching machine and the rusty exterior. It’s the dirty feet pressed against the side mirror! It’s pretty disgusting. The other morning I saw this figure, limbs hanging out of a jeepney. The cars and other jeeps were honking right beside him but he wouldn’t budge! I guess they didn’t get threats like “Don’t stick anything out of the car window!” when they were young. All that matters is for them to relax as comfortably as possible in their own vehicles, much to the dislike of motorists around them.

there are so many things happening in Makati…these are my shallow observations:

5. tunnel from 6750 side going to ritz side is already finished.
6. ucc and fully booked is now open at rustan’s makati’s heaven on the fifth (5th floor)
7. slimmer’s world pasay road is getting better…(some friends told me so)
8. if you are driving to assumption….the route has been changed for students not residing inside san lorenzo
9. more kids (meaning students) are frequenting the malls during school hours…i wonder if their parents know this…
10. starbucks planner has a leather case already unlike the past two years… :-) (sana starbucks would give me one for plugging them)
these are my shallow observations, what are yours?
Clearance Sale for Bookworms
Now I’m asking everyone to excuse me for my excessive and blatant promotion of the place, but they say it is only a good product that can (or should) be advertised. And Libreria, the tiny bookstore / patisserie in Tomas Morato, Quezon City, is indeed worth visiting more than once, at least for me.
From what I have confirmed the book and coffee shop is closing this December 16. This is quite sad, and I’ve been offered condolences already. In lieu, therefore, of the impending tragedy, allow me to announce a final clearance sale: 50% off on all items. “Everything,” my friend told me. “Everything in Libreria is on sale. All items for half the price. Go spend the whole of your Christmas bonus on it.”
And spend my Christmas bonus on it I shall do. Maybe Libreria is even where I’m going to do my gift-shopping. The place sells not only amazingly priced special edition books and magazines, but original DVDs and personalized paper / notebook / pen products as well. The exquisite coffee is supplied by the Cordillera Coffee Company, which offers just as good a product to be advertised. I hope to see the bookworms and jaded Starbucks customers there.
Libreria is located at 184 Tomas Morato Avenue, Quezon City, in between Formula Bar and 7-Eleven.

What happened to the “Revive Metropolitan Theater Project”?
This infrastructure was considered one of Manila’s most popular landmark…. It used to be Asia’s most beautiful theater before WW2 …. A year ago, I saw a big billboard with the Mayors face…. promising that Metropolitan theater Manila will be renovated and will be revived……. WHAT HAPPENED? sa BUDGET? whahahaha
Facts:
Completed in 1935, to the design of eminent Filipino architect Juan Arellano, this supreme example of art deco architecture was once Manila’s focal venue for performances ranging from vaudeville to opera. It fell into disuse in the 1960s, was meticulously restored in the following decade, but has once again fallen into disrepair. But even in the building’s present state, it is still possible to admire such art deco gems as the bronze statues of female figures placed along the top of the facade.

Pacman Won!!!!
Who wasn’t able to watch the fight?
Rage Against the Bus
This bus almost ran us over. From White Plains to Cubao, this Jell Transport monster tackled EDSA like he was racing against time. The bus driver was undaunted by endless honking from his potential crash victims. It was terrible, terrible, terrible. My companion gripped the wheel angrily as we watched this bus ahead of us wreak havoc on EDSA.

Perfect Pritchon
“Fried lechon wrapped in pita wedges and served with seven sauces…” Mmmmm. Sounds delicious, doesn’t it? Whenever we have huge company gatherings or family reunions, Charlie’s Pritchon is one of the main highlights. So how exactly does the service go?
Preparing the Pritchon for a Family Gathering
First, give them a call. Tell them when and where your gathering is. The service crew will be there about half an hour before it starts to set up.
Once there, the crew begins to carve the fried suckling pig and wrap the pritchon in pita wedges. It’s fun to watch. I also enjoy talking to the crew because they’re very friendly!
