Sharing the wealth
It’s that time of the year once again when I receive orders from my sister overseas to buy stuff from Manila to send to her in Australia. One of the constant in her list are dried mangoes and pearls from Greenhills.
In all the times I went to Greenhills for pearls, I was never able to have a “suki” because not only do I have a lousy memory, they’re not as memorable as the seller I met earlier. I think I have found my suki.
Her stall was the first I laid eyes on, upon the numerous stalls selling pretty much the same things with almost the same display. I don’t know what’s it about her store that compelled me to go to her; maybe it’s because it was directly in my path, maybe it’s because of her beautiful green Muslim garb or maybe I’m just tired and just want to get the pearl buying over with.
She never gave me a chance to say I’d look at the other stalls. Besides, I was her buena mano, so how can I refuse? She gave me the bracelets she normally sells for Php120 for only Php100, and necklaces that retails for Php500 for half its price. She even gave me a free gift, a pair of pearl earrings. Yup, I think I found my suki.
So if ever you find yourself in Greenhills looking for pearls, look for Rashida Pearl. Right now they’re at Stall #10, but since their stalls rotate every full moon or something, you can text Jamilah at 0921-680-1587 to inquire about their current location and prices for their gorgeous pearls.
