Craving for Team Manila shirts?

Photo from Team Manila

Those gorgeous-hard-to-find shirts from Team Manila are now available in several SM Malls (check out Kultura)! The prolific team has designed tons of shirts, bags and accessories that was previously only available at their design office in Makati.

Check out their flagship store at Rockwell’s Powerplant mall at the Independent Lifestyle section on the 2nd floor. You can also purchase shirts online (payment through GCash) so check out their website for more info.

Don’t swim in dirty water

That may sound logical already but this doesn’t ring true in the heads of lots of kids in the metro. Perhaps this is why the DENR has asked residents not to swim in polluted water especially since temperatures have been leveling around 35 C this summer.

DENR in particular mentioned Manila Bay, Pasig River and Marikina River. Among the things you could catch are cholera, dysentery, amoebiasis, typhoid fever and other skin ailments.

Tough luck commuting in Paranaque

If you’re going to Paranaque today, bring a car because there’s a transport strike all over the city.

Over 3,000 jeepney drivers belonging to the Philippine Confederation of Drivers and Operators-Alliance of Concerned Transport Organization (PCDO-ACTO) are demanding that the city government act on illegal jeepneys, terminals and routes.

Are You Game?

Huge online gaming fan that I am, a friend recently invited me to participate in a test run which I thoroughly enjoyed. Now another event has come up, and I’d like everyone interested to join me!

Digital Media Exchange, Inc (the parent company of mobiusgames and mobiuskids) would like to invite gamers to participate in an exciting upcoming event. They will be testing one of the hottest new online games from the United States on Wednesday, March 28, all across the metro.

If you’re 18-25 years old and have time on your hands (the test runs from 11am to 9 pm straight!), please get in touch with Raffy Saret through 0921-5203327. Give him your details as well as your area of residence. It’s that simple!

In addition to hours of free online game play, you will also be entitled to a transportation allowance, epoints (the virtual universal currency brought to you by mobiusonline), plus free drinks and snacks. How’s that, eh?

2nd RockerPark this afternoon!

RockerPark

It’s the 2nd RockerPark at 3pm this afternoon in Eastwood! This streetball challenge is also a charity event and RockEd will be collecting used sports equipment for donation to public schools.

Entrance is fee and if you want to try out the streetball challenge, just drop on by the Eastwood central plaza. Several bands will also be there but I’m not sure which ones from the line up will play. The event is sponsored by Rock Ed, Eastwood City and Toby’s sports.

Small victory over red tape!

In a small victory over red tape, several government agencies have scrapped clearance and export fees after an order from President Arroyo. Agencies all over the metro from National Food Authority in Taguig, the National Tobacco Administration and the Philippine Coconut Authority in Quezon City have scrapped their export fees to make it easy for exporters to do business.

Makati gets strict on scooters, bikers

It seems that scooters and motor bike users in Makati will be getting more heat as the city has just launched an anti-crime campaign targeting scooters. According to this article from abs-cbn news, “Project Clean Motorbike” will require police to place stickers with control numbers on all motorcycles passing through the city.

If you do not have a Certificate of Registration for your bike, you won’t be able to pass through the city and you will also be investigated. According to the project, it aims to limit robbery-holdup incidents committed by bike riders and to reduce cases of stolen scooters.
