Arroyo to step down; AFP Chief withdraws support

President Gloria Arroyo is set to stepp down as President of the Republic today with mounting pressure from her top advisers composed of fashion designers and stylists from various parts of the Philippines.

The Philippine Association of Hair and Makeup Stylists issued a press statement withdrawing their support for the President – “We are appalled by her continual lack of fashion sense and uncontrollable abuse of maskara.” says Manilyn Morato, former MTRCB chairman and PAHMS president.

The withdrawal of support by PAHMS was subsequently followed by another withdrawal by The Association of Fashion designers of the Philippines. Chief Design Executive Nonoy Po said in a brief interview before the closing rights of the 2007 Philippine Fashion Week – “Promise, di namin gets si ate glo, wala siyang ka-fashion sense man lang”.

The President will be addressing the nation at the Philippine Blog Awards Technical Awards this afternoon. Happy April Fools!
