TriNoMa ceiling collapses

Strong rain was the ultimate cause of a collapse of a small portion of the recently openned TriNoMa in Quezon City. TriNoMa or Triangle North of Manila is the newest mall added to the Ayala Malls chain and was just recently openned last May 16. The QC Engineer’s Office has cleared the building for it’s official launch this month saying the incident is only a maintenance issue and not a structural one.

I was there! Didn’t saw the thing collapse, but they were starting cleaning up and cordoning the area off. Hmm, so that’s what happened…

Some stores are open, but most are still closed. Their roofdeck is awesome. Will take pics probably this weekend.

So this is true. I thought it was a hoax. But the news I heard from a colleague was exaggerated, as in the whole 2nd floor collapsed. The mall is nice. There are a lot of people already considering maybe less than 50% of the mall is not yet occupied and the parking is not well lit.

Oh yikes. That could’ve been terrible press for them! I hope nobody was hurt.
