UP Charter Change approved by Senate!

Good news UP Students, the Senate recently approved the changes to the UP Charter which strengthes UP as the National University. Some of the changes include more autonomy for the UP board of regents, exemption of faculty from the salary standardization law and tax-exemptions on areas related to educational functions.

This is a victory for UP (and for Education) because our charter change has always been defeated in previous Senate sessions and because of this, I believe that Senate Majority leader FranĀcis Pangilinan, head of the Senate panel which approved this deserves being reelected to his post.
