Lunch at John and Yoko
Hubby and I had lunch at John and Yoko at Greenbelt 5. I’ve heard a lot of great things about this restaurant so we decided to give it a whirl.
The atmosphere was pretty snazzy. Lots of purples, reds and blacks. Interesting concept. We were there for the food though so we wasted no time asking our server for recommendations. Here’s what we got.
For appetizers, we got some Crunchy Squid Teriyaki. It was delicious! Just the right blend of saltiness and sweetness.
Then we went for some Tofu Cheese Melt. I really didn’t want to get this but my hubby insisted on it. The fusion was quite intriguing in concept. And in taste? It was okay. I couldn’t marry the idea of tofu with the crumbled bacon and melted cheese I usually have with nachos. Still, it is an appetizer worth trying.
We also got some Chawan Mooshi Shooters (not sure if I spelled that right…). They’re steamed eggs with shrimp, ground meat and crabstick. Delicious!!! My favorite part of our whole lunch experience.
For our main meal, we ordered a seafood teppan set, good for two. There was a selection of scallops, salmon, squid, shrimp, oysters and asparagus, served with its own sauce. I LOVED the fried oysters.
And of course, there was rice! We ordered the all-meat rice. It was quite sticky and reminded me of machang. Very tasty!
And they serve house tea to wash all those yummylicious food down.
Will we go back? Definitely. I want to try their sushi and sashimi next time. :) You can find John and Yoko at the 2nd floor of Greenbelt 5.
